[4K]Inui Street in the Imperial Palace and Kitanomaru Garden, Tokyo – Autumn(No Talk, Ambient Music)

On December 1, 2025, it was a pleasantly warm day in Tokyo.

To capture the last autumn colors of the year, I visited the Imperial Palace Inui Street and Kitanomaru Garden. It was less crowded than I expected, which allowed me to focus on shooting.

I’ve published both the video and photos, so I’d be happy if you watch all the way to the end.

Also, if you turn up the brightness on your smartphone or monitor to the maximum, I think you’ll enjoy it even more.

2025年12月1日、東京は暖かい一日でした。

今年最後の紅葉を撮るため、皇居乾通りと北の丸庭園へ向かいました。思ったよりも混んでおらず、撮影に集中できました。

Ginkgo tree-lined road along Koshu Kaido – 甲州街道 イチョウ並木 / Nov 17, 2025

I came here on the same day as last year. It’s only my second time at this spot. Last year I was too early and the ginkgo trees were still green, but this time they’ve finally turned yellow. There are many ginkgo-lined streets in Tokyo, but this place in Hachioji, with all the cars passing by, makes me feel the quiet flow of time.

昨年と同じ日に、まだ二度目のこの場所に来た。 昨年は色づく前に来てしまったけれど、今年はちゃんと黄葉のタイミングが合ってくれた。 東京都内にもイチョウ並木はいくつもあるけれど、八王子のこの場所は、行き交う車が多いぶん、「時間が流れている」感覚を感じる。

Tokyo Sakura Tram / 東京さくらトラム – Oct, 2025

The sky kept shifting between cloudy and sunny, and the wind was pretty strong that day. Riding along the Tokyo Sakura Tram and looking out at the scenery, what really catches my interest is the area around Minowabashi Station, with its sense of history, and the view of the Joyful Minowa shopping street nearby. Then, over around Zoshigaya, you suddenly see these brand-new high-rise apartments, and that contrast is fascinating in its own way. Instead of just tearing down the old and building something new, the city is trying to cherish its history while letting it coexist with modern living environments. Seeing that direction in how the town is being shaped, I can’t help but feel that Japan really is doing something impressive.

空は一日じゅう、曇ったり晴れたり。風もけっこう強い日でした。 東京さくらトラムに揺られながら沿線を眺めていて、「ここはやっぱり面白いな」と感じるのが、歴史を感じる三ノ輪橋駅のあたりと、その近くにあるジョイフル三の輪商店街の風景です。 一方で、雑司ヶ谷のあたりには新しいタワーマンションが建っていて、そのギャップがまたなんとも言えず面白い。 古いものを片っ端から壊して新しいものを作るのではなく、歴史を大事にしながら、新しい生活環境と一緒に生かしていく──。 そういう方向で街づくりをしている日本って、やっぱりすごい国だなぁと、あらためて感じました。

cloaked in light / 光に包まれた – Nov, 2025

I went to Showa Kinen Park to photograph cosmos flowers cloaked in light. I used the X-T5, XF50-140, and a Freewell V2 CPL + VND filter plus a glow filter. Moving around to catch the constantly changing light is genuinely enjoying.

光をまとったコスモスを撮るために昭和記念公園へ。 X-T5, XF50-140, Freewell V2 CPL + VND Filter + Glow Filter を使用。 どんどん変化する光の動きを撮れるよう動き回るのは、本当に面白い。

Kyu-Furukawa Gardens / 旧古河庭園 – Nov, 2025

On the Culture Day holiday, I visited Kyu-Furukawa Gardens. Since it had been a while, I was prepared for some crowds, but honestly, it was really packed. The paths around the rose garden were jammed with people and, as you can see in the footage, it was so crowded that it was hard to capture a full view of the garden. Even so, the roses that drew all those people in were all blooming beautifully.

文化の日の休日に、旧古河庭園へ行ってきました。 久しぶりの訪問だったので、ある程度の人混みは覚悟していましたが、いやいや、本当に混んでいました。 バラ園の通路には人がぎっしりで、映像のとおり、バラ園全体の景色を撮るのが難しいくらいの人だかり。それでも、そこに集まった人たちを惹きつけるバラは、どれも本当に美しく咲いていました。

Scenes from Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden on October 25, 2025. Shot with an iPhone 15 Pro Max with a VND + CPL filter attached. Please excuse the fact that some footage was shot without adjusting the ND filter. The footage was stitched together in DaVinci Resolve. (No color correction or color grading was applied.)
