雨に濡れる新宿御苑の風景を撮影したいと思い園内を歩きましたが、実際の空模様は雨が降ったり止んだり。天気は思い通りにいかないからこそ、その時だけの表情を見せてくれるのかもしれません。
濡れた園路、雨に洗われた木々の緑、しっとりとした空気。
新宿の近くにありながら、園内には落ち着いた時間が流れていました。
新宿御苑は、明治39年に皇室の庭園として完成し、戦後に一般公開された歴史ある庭園です。現在は環境省が管理しており、日本庭園、整形式庭園、風景式庭園など、異なる庭園様式を楽しめる場所として親しまれています。
梅雨の東京で出会った、雨が降ったり止んだりする新宿御苑の風景。

The weather forecast called for rain, so I visited the garden hoping to capture the atmosphere of Shinjuku Gyoen on a rainy day. In reality, the rain came and went throughout the walk. That unpredictable weather made the scenery even more interesting.
Wet pathways, rain-washed greenery, soft light, and the quiet air of the garden created a calm rainy-season mood in the middle of Tokyo.
Shinjuku Gyoen was completed in 1906 as an imperial garden and later opened to the public after World War II. Today, it is managed by Japan’s Ministry of the Environment and is known for its Japanese traditional garden, formal garden, and English landscape-style areas.
