2026年6月15日、曇り空の東京を歩きました。
高円寺から中野、大久保、新大久保、そして新宿へ。
高円寺は、昔ながらの商店街や個人店、音楽や古着、阿波おどりなどの文化が残る街です。一方で、近年は高架下開発や都市計画道路、防災まちづくりをめぐる議論も出てきており、街の個性をどう守りながら変化していくのかが問われているように感じました。
中野駅周辺では、すでに新しい高層住宅や大規模な都市開発が進み、駅前の景色が大きく変わっています。
大久保・新大久保では、日本語以外の看板や多国籍な店が増え、東京のなかでも独特の混ざり合う空気を感じます。
新宿では、今も高層ビルが増え続け、都市の輪郭がさらに上へと伸びているようでした。
便利になり、整えられていく街。
その一方で、どこも少しずつ似た景色になっていくようにも見える東京。
この動画では、曇りの日の静かな空気のなかで、高円寺、中野、大久保、新大久保、新宿を歩きながら、変わりゆく街の表情を記録しました。

Filmed on June 15, 2026, on a cloudy day in Tokyo.
This walk takes you from Koenji to Nakano, Okubo, Shin-Okubo, and Shinjuku.
Koenji is known for its old shopping streets, independent shops, music culture, vintage clothing stores, and the famous Awa Odori festival. At the same time, discussions around urban planning, elevated railway space development, disaster-prevention measures, and future redevelopment have also become more visible. It made me think about how a city can change while still preserving its own character.
Around Nakano Station, new high-rise residential towers and large-scale urban development have already changed the streetscape.
In Okubo and Shin-Okubo, more multilingual signs and international shops create a distinctive multicultural atmosphere.
In Shinjuku, new skyscrapers continue to rise, pushing the city’s skyline even higher.
Tokyo is becoming more convenient and more organized.
But at the same time, many places seem to be slowly moving toward a similar urban landscape.
This video quietly captures the changing atmosphere of Tokyo on a cloudy day, walking through Koenji, Nakano, Okubo, Shin-Okubo, and Shinjuku.
